WCC/A10 Challenge Coming Soon?

Would love it if this did indeed take place. Of course, the A10 has 14 teams in it and the WCC only 8, but why quibble over such matters?

OOOOOoooooOOOOO!!! I like this a lot! Heck even if it meant some WCC teams playing 2 games, I think this would be a great contest against pretty like conferences... And now that the local state schools won't play us anymore, this would help getting quality opponents big time!

I think that would be really cool...and maybe down the line we have a couple more teams in our conference??? I think it would also be a cool tournament to see a WCC/Pac 10 challenge. Oh well this will probably be better for consistency over a number of years.

No way Pac10 would agree to that and risk the RPI hit AND they wouldn't be getting the exposure in different media markets...

Plus they already have one with the Big 10...

The Big 11 plays the ACC. The Pac-10 is with the Big 12. Oregon is about to go to Mizzou to get smoked.

To the OP: I would love to see this. It's nice to have some variety in the non-conference schedule in addition to the usual Big Sky, Big West, etc. teams we get every season, and the A14 is right up there with the WCC as far as strong mid-major conferences go.

Oh yeah, I always get the Big Incorrect Number conferences mixed up...

Also, I think consistently playing some teams on the other side of the continent increases our nationwide exposure, whether we're ranked or not... And heck, if we play well it could widen our recruiting net as well!

That is very true. It was nice reading the Cleveland papers on Monday and seeing an article about the Portland Pilots (and how the writer ranked us #19)

Mark me down as "very much" in favor of a WCC-A10 challenge... logistics with numbers can be worked out... just getting an additional home-and-home game with a semi-quality (and interesting) opponent makes it worthwhile.

WCC-MVC Classic. We really need to expose ourselves to the midwest (I thought about re-writing that sentence, but it seems appropriate). The MVC is actually a stronger conference than the A-10. They have had more tournament teams in the recent history AND they are closer to Rochin54 and myself.

We should really be exposing ourselves to as many people as possible.

Atlantic "10" is apparently getting even larger. They are poised to add Butler. If the WCC/A10 tournament ever takes place this gives one more quality opponent.
