Geez...Yes, the write-up in the RG was better than in the Examiner--along with a great shot of Cloee heading the ball out of the defensive 3rd.

Quite a few former Pilots in the crowd last night. Didn't see Rapinoe, Sinclair or Milbrett, but we were sitting across from Emily Michaelson and Michelle Scifo. Not bad for a road game!

Re: Pilots vs Ducks
Any chance to whoop on a Ducks team is a good one in my book. In terms of stats, they compete with us for the number of shots on goal and total shots... That doesn't make them a tournament team though. Stanford, USC, UCLA, and WSU are all still probably better...

Re: Pilots vs Ducks
Better indeed, but at the same time, in the past they could sleep walk and beat the Ducks, it just isn't the case anymore... Which absolutely pains me to admit...

Fyi - I got the video to work. I did have to install an update and jump through some hoops, but got it going just in time for kickoff.

True, and at the same time, we aren't at mid-season form yet. Women's soccer is still a game of dynasties, and we are one of them. 5-8 teams dominate recruiting, and we are one of them.

As Have said before. There was some pretty creative scorekeeping on the shot total. Fans in my area were chuckling.

Good to know, Geezaldinho. Can someone post the link to the video highlights? There wasn't one on the schedule page where I usually find it. Thanks.

Re: Pilots vs Ducks
Well, the first part of the game was a little rough. You have to expect that, of course, since it was the first game of the season. I knew they'd settle down and get in a rhythm at some point, but I was on the edge of my seat hoping they didn't allow a goal to slip by before that!
It was like a many layered soccer sandwich. There'd be 10 minutes of panicky clearing of the ball (panicky relative to the high standard for possession that the Pilots have, that is) followed by 10 minutes of brilliant passing and moving and winning 50-50 balls everywhere, followed by more clearing of the ball, followed by some really dangerous chances, and so on.
But man, there were some really great moments, and I think within a few games the Pilots will really start dominating.

Does a soccer sandwich have nutmeg? if it's served hot, is it anything like a soccer turnover? Be careful you don't dribble when you eat it. I wonder if there are chips on top.....
sometime you can get them with a banana kick on the side.
Man, now I'm hungry.

Re: Pilots vs Ducks
Thanks, runner girl, that was an excellent review of the game and gives me another take to layer onto what I have already read.
I loved your soccer sandwich analogy. Great to see creative writing on this board, even if you have to deal with old, drunken smart alecks sometimes.
Keep up the good work, runner girl!!!

Re: Pilots vs Ducks
Rachel, per a talk with my wife, is headed for medical school, taking a couple of courses now in CA to fulfill the prerequisites. Megan is going to start in the WPS all star game.

Yeah, I was the guy face down on the bench. That's what I do.
But I have no idea what-so-ever what match you are referring to.
btw - Rochin, go to your room! And Geez, you and I both know that you are a whole lot smarter than you act sometimes...
(Oh, jus' joshin' with ya fellas...you know I love all my children. Hey, I think FANatic might have woken up!)
