ESPNews Monday Night
I think I read that the brackets will be announced next Monday, 11/10/2008, at 5pm PT on ESPNews.
I don't get ESPNews as I'm sure many others don't either. I believe last year the "Chatbox" was the place to be to obtain info and then discuss how we got screwed, etc..
I am assuming that is where someone who has ESPNews will be reporting to the rest of us whether we made the top four #1 seeds or not. (Assuming we beat USD on Saturday night.)
From a nostalgic standpoint, looking back to Nov 12 last year, at the time it was the most happening event in the history of Pilot Nation, at least according to the number of people on the site. There were 12 people on the site at one point which stood as the most ever online at this website until the Penn State GameTracker went poof earlier this season. On that early Sunday morning, as I recall, at one point we had 48!!! folks on the site, which remains by far the record.
We, (Pilot Nation), have grown so much in the last year that I wonder if we'll come close to breaking that new benchmark. We sure do have a whole lot more guests hanging around this season. Why, I think when I logged on last night there were 12 people on the site, which would have been unheard of only a year ago.
Congrats to the Admins and other significant people behind the scenes, as well as PN donors, (thanks), for creating and maintaining the best sports forum I've personally ever seen and am proud to be a part of. (There should be emotional music playing in the background now - can you hear it?)
Monday, 11/10/2008: Since I wrote this last Thursday, we had an amazing 53 people logged onto this site at about 9:30 pm last Saturday during the 2nd half of the San Diego match. It is the new record.
But will it survive past the NCAA selection committee's bracket announcement tonight at 5pm? I don't know, but I would think there's going to be a whopping number of people on this site and in the chatroom tonight. So "53" people on this site at the same time may be in jeopardy tonight!

Re: ESPNews Monday Night
If I remember correctly, last year NCAA.com had the bracket up right after the selection broadcast. I went to the HOF room last year and frantically wrote teams down, but it was a waste of time because it was posted by the time I got home a few minutes later.

Re: ESPNews Monday Night
I just checked my on-screen guide for tomorrow night on ESPNNews, it does not say anything about the bracket announcement, but I am going to watch it anyway.
From what I have read it sounds like several of you feel like the Pilots have a good shot to hosts rounds 1/2. If that is the case I would get to see my first game in person since they beat Notre Dame in the quarters in '05. And I think we all know how that season ended...

I give mattywizz credit for the 05 championship. Without him Merlo is nothing.... NOTHING.

Go in the front door of the Chiles center and bear left to the hallway past the restrooms. Follow the noise where the cheering is.

Matty-
I watched it last year and it just popped on during the news. If I remember correctly, they only devoted a couple of minutes to the brackets. No hype or nothing. Womens college soccer news is not much in the grand world of sports. By gumby, it should be though!
