You gotta like a defender who is described as a hammer.

...and dominating in the air is a trait we all like.
Great find Fozzie.
My first question the day after this season ends is going to be: How does Cloee Colohan fit in with this team!

Re: 11 questions with cloee colohan
I think Cloee might play in the central defense with Kassi especially if Michelle O moves to midfield. My question is who will take on the playmaking duties in the center mid when Megan graduates.

I see the u17's have been playing a 3 defender defense.
I know that Garrett isn't real fond of that concept, but if we are ever going to try it, next year would be the year.

If Michelle O. moves to midfield, where does Keelin play at?Auto Pilot wrote:

That is going to be one of several questions we are going to start debating after this season ends. I mean, I'm almost glad Lindsi Lisonbee changed her commit. What, were we going to start four center backs on the back line?

Auto Pilot asks: "My question is who will take on the playmaking duties in the center mid when Megan graduates?"
Barring an astonishing freshman in a breakout performance the candidates would seem to be the following current mids in no special order, followed by my personal views on each and a question for all to ponder:
Charney Burk -- It's hers to have or lose as she is getting a chance at center this season to show what she can do; strong shot, nice footwork; her shot on goal that rebounds to a teammate makes a nice assist; Q: can she win the war in the air?
Michelle Enyeart -- Best all-around attacker, deserves to play up top at striker IMHO, total team player, quietly and devastatingly effective, a selfless passer with a rocket kick, exceptional speed, would benefit from having the ball at her feet more if she played in the middle, a constant scoring threat; Q: would playing in the center confine her trademark runs toward goal or open more opportunities?
Sophie Schmidt: so strong, no one knocks her off the ball, a warrior in the air, excellent passing touch, well-grounded in defense; but will Pilots staff move her back a row after the goals she has scored lately?
Ellie Reed: speed personified, vastly improved on defense in 2 seasons, tireless runner, always a scoring weapon, versatile at mid or on the back line; Q: Could she refocus on ball distribution versus her sideline runs?
Keelin Winters: Best at her age in the USA in the holding mid role but has all the skills and drive to take her act to the attack -- headers, dekes, ball control, passing shooting; she's even played at striker this mixed-up season; if Keelin moves up, Michelle Olivier could take over the holding mid role with no problem. Q: Is Keelin simply too valuable where she is?
In short, Pilots midfield rules no matter who plays where.

Re: 11 questions with cloee colohan
A follow-up to Geezaldinho's note about a 3-defender back line for U17s: How is the rest of the team arranged: 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 or otherwise?

Re: 11 questions with cloee colohan
They usually work a 3-4-3 with Chloee in the middle of the back line.
UNC and UCLA both run it a bit.
