I love it. Military time and DMY. Like foreign country, almost
Canada plays its first match on 23 October at 14.30 PT at the Nike Campus. In between games, the team will have two training sessions at the University of Portland on Friday. The team's second game is 25 October at 12.00 PT.

Final score 1-1. more scrimmage than international contest.
Keelin played maybe 80% of the game. Michelle didn't play, I didn't see Elli at all.
There may be an interview with Michelle on the news tonight - I'm not sure which station, it was at the other end of the field.

Channel 8. I took a few photos with my little digital camera. Once I get a chance to look at them, I'll post them if any of them are any good. Have to agree with Geezer, not the most exciting game. I never saw Elli either.

Word is that Elli is in Ca with the team. The underclassmen were only supposed to do one camp.

Re: U-20 games at Nike Campus
Nice work, how did the Seminoles look? Erin McNulty is the Canadian keeper and Becky Edwards is number 2 for the good guys.

Re: U-20 games at Nike Campus
for a Pilot's fan, that's a complex answer.
The Canadian Keeper played fine. she wasn't actually tested much. the goal against her she had no chance on. the goal was a result of one of those mass assaults that aren't really in the control of a keeper. The Canadians had the better run of play, I thought.
as for your #2, she played Ok. (she was a central defender or holding mid? they switched a bit)
The US team plays a style we aren't used to in Portland. The play wasn't very sophisticated or engaging. It was very direct. I had expected a better passing game from the reports I had received over the last few months, but it was really old Diccico. Defensive players often had simple passes to the midfield that they ignored in favor of what I would call "magical" 40 yarders to the forwards. None connected.
When the forwards got the ball, they turned directly to goal and shot. there was no thought of passing to a team mate.
The impression I got was that the girls were trying to impress the coach, not make plays with team mates.
That's fine in the spring, but not 3 weeks before the World Cup.
Two players stood out for individual play for the US team. Keelin Winters owned everything in the air, and Nikki Washington showed individual skill that was sort of stunning to watch. without help, neither was effectual.
I know it sounds harsh, but that's what I saw.
I don't really have the time to watch tomorrow, but I may try again anyways. I hope for better.

Re: U-20 games at Nike Campus
I agree with Geezer, it was not a very entertaining game from a Portland fan's point of view. The passing was lacking, not much play on the wings. Despite Washington's speed, they rarely passed to her to take advantage of it.
