On campus update: possible explanation for Michelle O injury

Post by DJ Sherman on Fri Jan 22, 2010 1:53 am

Not too long, substantial, or even potentially that important an update, but I figured I would use my on campus presence to report a observation and I believe I have read grumblings about the lack of soccer this time of year.

Michelle Olivier has been seen around campus on crutches recovering from Compartment syndrome surgery, essentially, her calf was too big for her ligaments, for more info. study Maybe this caused or was a symptom of her earlier trouble.
The good news is she said she'll be ready for the spring games. cheers

I remember seeing something about Logan Emory on the men's team having a similar surgery. I'm not quite sure if the calf being too big for the ligaments is quite right though...from a medical standpoint. Let's hope its not too serious...

I'm too lazy to read the full wiki article, so I just asked my wife about it. Good thing this was caught, otherwise it could have been a serious problem. She explained it as a swelling issue, usually a symptom following a break. But it shouldn't be an issue moving forward.

Danielle Foxhoven had similar surgery last spring, as did Amanda Frisbie last summer. Both came out of it better than ever.

I needed a new heel for my shoe so I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. Give me five bees for a quarter you'd say. Now where were we, oh ya. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because if the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...."
