Chicken Little was right!!

The market is tanking...hard...duck and cover!!!

I think we are going to be in this mess for awhile, Rochin54. We had a great spring rally in the markets going there, but now it's all for naught.

I am hoping things brighten up a bit in the next few weeks if earnings season is generally positive. But with fuel prices the way they are, I think that may impact current and/or future earnings guidance. Negative future guidance is always a disaster, regardless how good your results are today.

Oh well. These things have gone in cycles for a long, long time. Barring WWIII, we should eventually recover and stocks will start the long haul back upward as they always have... I hope...

There are a number of contemporaenous events that should give the sober mind concern about the state of the economy--gas and food prices being one of many. Let's hope that this recession(whether technically so is of little matter) is a short one, that oil barrel prices trend down at some point, with increasing stability in the Middle East, and that the stock market recovers its loses.

The gas prices are really hurting the airlines and other travel related industries such as hotels.

Where is this headed is no doubt a discussion for all of us to consider.
