Re: Canada beats u-20's in final

No alumni game on the horizon, I've been told. It's usually done in the spring anyway, as one of their 6 NCAA regulated playing dates, and they haven't had one since Spring 2007. Plus scheduling it in August would rule out Sinclair and Lopez, and do you really think Lauren would burn the alumni like that? She'd want to give them the best shot at winning and that means playing in the spring, when there are no national team commitments on the horizon. Smile

Dang...I found the article I was referencing!

....As Tweety Bird said...."I DID..I DID saw a Puddy-Tat!!!!" cyclops

Huie’s squad was countered by fellow senior captain and defending national player of the year Christine Sinclair, who accounted for three goals en route to her team's unofficial victory. The competitiveness displayed during the intrasquad scrimmage was fierce. At one point, an upperclassman put a hard tackle on an unsuspecting freshman which would have drawn a caution from the most liberal of referees. Assistant Coach Lauren Orlandos, playing left back for the purple team, later put another player on the turf in an aerial battle, dislodging three hair clips in the process.

Mrs Hansen is a lean mean killing machine! Don't be mislead by her good looks and engaging smile! She'll "dislodge" anything on your
body if you're not careful!

How many more days?

Here's a link to the full article from 2005. It wasn't the alumni game afterall....but the opening scrimmages where these incidences occurred.

Not credible

Post by PurpleGeezer on Wed Jul 02, 2008 6:40 pm

couldn't have happened.

The NCAA doesn't allow the use of hair clips, so your pernicious rumor is not credible

A.R. 4.6.a. May a player wear earrings, chains, charms, watches, hair clips,
bobby pins, tongue studs, bracelets of any type or items associated with piercing
(visible or not visible)? RULING: No.

I'm shocked you would repeat such things.

But I'm starting to like the sound of the word "pernicious"

I'm sure Lauren had no pernicious intent. She was just being a good citizen on the pitch and enforcing those NCAA rules herself.

The referee swallowed his whistle on this play because 1) he realized he had missed the the violation during the pre-game inspection 2) he was too busy dodging the hairclips Mrs Hansen turned into shrapnel and 3) the sound of rattling teeth and skulls clashing mortified him pale

Yes Geezer...I agree...it didn't happen....

Play on......

geez,
Bush doesnt need GUPhantom. He has Dick Cheney. When pointed out Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 said, 'so'. I think that says it all really!

Yikes?!! That's right fozziewozzie...the Bush administration doesn't need me! Nor would I ever accept to serve and support this president. Didn't Chaney say "so"...when he shot his hunting buddy too? No Okay..sorry...guilty of putting words in his mouth!

This tread is headed into the dark side. Don't get me started on my polical views. I'd rather keep the topic on our awesome Portland Pilot Soccer Teams. Hopefully, we can present another Pilot jersey to the new guy in the White House. You noticed how I kept that statement bi-partisan? Wink

Chaney Misquote

Post by FANatic on Thu Jul 03, 2008 11:38 am

Phantom - Chaney didn't say "so" when he shot his hunting buddy.

He said, (and I've seen it immortalized on a plaque in the Smithsonian), "Would you PLEASE get the HExx out of my way when I've got a clear shot at a Sasquatch?" tongue tongue tongue

Now you can see how long to game day each time you open up a page with a post of mine on it.
Just look down at the Go Pilots signature.
then you have to add 18 hours to game TIME.

It's not for the faint of heart, though. I have to stick my head in a bucket of ice cold water each time I look at a certain other to-be-unnamed clock.

if the site supported java or html in posts, I could put one up that changed, but I'm sure that's too scary to contemplate. We could all do it if a moderator included bbcode words [cd][/cd] or [countdown][/countdown] in the "others" list hint, hint Laughing

Yeah, I don't know if I can put up with the scrolling for 49 days, so I'll probably disable it in a day or so.

Just playing with the possible...

I was going to add something with the World of Warcraft and Random commands, but I figured that would be too weird.
