Kilburg Places 6th @ Nationals, Earns All American!
Kilburg sat relaxed in about 12th place for the first two miles of the 5,000 meters today before killing the last mile and moving up to sixth place! One week ago there was nobody outside of UP that thought he even had a chance of qualifying for the indoor championships, let along making AA.
Here is an interview with him afterwards for those who are interested.

Location: Lowry the tailor lived there when boys were boys. In his day he was fond of the gun. He always carried his powder loose in the tail pocket of his coat. He usually had in his mouth a short dudeen; but in an evil moment he put the dudeen, lighted, in the pocket among the powder. Mr. Lowry was an eccentric man.

There is an article in today's Oregonian about it too. It's a nice read, and you can't help but feel really happy for Michael, who just accomplished something truly awesome and really didnt expect it:

I know it's been said plenty of times before, but Rob Conner does such an amazing job with our XC and track programs... now we've got three All-Americans on the roster, with John Moore, David Kinsella, and Michael Killburg. If all those guys are healthy, we could be in for a really special spring.
