UP Intersted in Mike James of Grant?

From yesterday's Tribune, with updates on Paul McCoy and Mike Moser (who we have offered according to Scout) too:

McCoy says he is looking at possible scholarships from Virginia, Washington State (which has offered), Southern Methodist and Virginia Tech.

James’ options currently include the University of Portland, Lewis-Clark State, Lamar and some prep schools. “He’s got the ability to play the point,” Coach Broadous says, “but he’s got a scoring mentality.”

Moser is getting interest from Arizona, WSU, Oregon State, UNLV and Virginia, among others. He was extremely active in the Oregon City game but has been a bit inconsistent.

James is the least heralded of Grant's "Big Three", but he's an athletic PG who can score, which would fill a need for our team. I'd be surprised if we offered (he is so under the radar that he's not even on Scout or Rivals, not that that really means anything), but it's good to know we are giving local kids like him a look.

I have only seen Mike James play on TV at the Class 6 A Championship
game and I liked his quickness and the fact hes an athlete whick we sorely need. The thing is he plays Pt guard which we also need badly. Being local I sure would like to see something start there, We could do a lot worse.

Agreed on all points, Sailor.

I'm sure that they are looking at other guys, but if nothing else works out, I definitely like the idea of taking a local kid.
