Congrats on another road win for the Pilots Tuesday, vs. FSU.

The Pilots run their record to 11-5! Nice work!

Early RPI

Post by pilotpurple on Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:45 am

boydsworld.com is a great site dedicated to collegiate baseball. They do daily updates on projected RPI. Prior to the Fresno win, the Pilots are No. 80. http://boydsworld.com/baseball/rpi/currentrpi.html

Also, I know that it is early and there is a good chance we are just OK compared to WCC competition, but how about giving credit where credit is due. I think the coaching staff has done a wonderful job to ressurrect this program. There were a lot of people calling for Sperry's head over the last five years (perhaps rightfully so), but I think they have done a wonderful job piecing the program back together.

Good job guys.

PS: two of our losses (OSU, Utah) were by a combined total of 34-1! How is that possible? But we've done an amazing job in close games, so more power to the guys.

They just added in yesterday's win and UP jumped to 64.

He usually had in his mouth a short dudeen; but in an evil moment he put the dudeen, lighted, in the pocket among the powder. Mr. Lowry was an eccentric man.

Great find, Pilot Purple!

Check out the WCC:

San Diego - 35
Santa Clara - 36
Pepperdine - 63
Portland - 64
LMU - 77
Gonzaga - 83
San Francisco - 94
Saint Mary's - 112

Out of 293 total teams, I'd say it's pretty darn good that 7 are in the top 100 with one just outside of it.

That site has the WCC as the #4 overall conference, behind the ACC, Pac 10, and Big 12. That's out of 30 conferences (plus the collection of independents). Impressive so far . . .
