Tournament Kicks off Today!

The WCC Tournament officially tees off in 1 hour, 45 minutes with the Noon start of the women's games.

The Pilots play tonight at 6pm vs. the host Toreros. It looks like the UP webcast will be rolling, as will the WCC audio and web cast.

I didnt see the USD game here... anyone have any thoughts on the game?

The game here was a mini-nightmare for the Pilots. everything went wrong except for the pink shoelaces. The refs were horrible, but that wasn't the problem.

We didn't play well defensively (layed out the red carpet in the paint).

The only Big that did well was Sievers and or guards ,except Cronin, were missing for most of the game.

Burris has been consistently good since then, however, and the other guards can light it up sometimes.

Angel, Warren, and Coble need to step it up.

Depends which team shows up

The problem with USD is that they have one of the best PG's in the country in Amanda Rego - she led the country in assists last year - and a really good post player in Amber Sprague. So they can score inside and outside.

Burris is great defensively, so we'll probably need her to really try and shut down Rego. But Sprague is a tough match-up for a bigs, since she's quick. So I don't know... Sievers has really been playing well the past few games, so maybe she can have a big game.

I think overall it'll be tough but definitely doable. I think the Pilots are good enough that on any given night they can give any team a run. Gonzaga is the only team that I think would really take something beyond just us playing well to beat.

#2 SCU came from behind to beat #7 USF 89-84.

#1 GU beat #8 Pepp in a game closer than the final score indicates, 77-67.

Next up: Pilots vs. USD at 6pm!
