Texas St. @ Pilots, Nov. 24, 5PM

Fifth game in eight days tonight.  Texas St. is also 2-0 in this Portland Classic, 4-1 overall.  Very strong, deep team.  Led by guards Pearson and Nottingham, who are shooting 42.5 38% from 3P.  Their biggest guys are only 6'8".  Eleven guys are averaging over ten minutes per game.  I expect they'll try to run the Pilots into exhaustion.  UP shooters better have their game on for both halves today.

The Bobcats are way more experienced, more physical, and overall more athletic than the Pilots.  So besides having more rested players, Texas State is just a better team right now, and IMO UP will have to play much better than they have just to stay in this game.

In addition to Crisshawn being out with an ankle dislocation, Hugh, Jacob, Taki, and now Theo have ankle and/or foot problems.

I'm guessing Hugh will play, but Theo's high ankle sprain is worrisome, and it could be up to D and JP to give him some backup.

Most pundits are declaring the game between the #226 Pilots and the #164 Bobcats a "pick 'em," and without the injuries and lack of rest the Pilots might have been favored, but to win they're going to have to play their best game so far this season with limited resources.

Sheesh, the injuries are getting ridiculous.

Oh, and JoJo is playing through an ankle sprain that likely would have kept him out of games last season when his mental toughness was still in high school.

If the Pilots pull this one out with all these injuries, I will be beyond impressed.

Good news is that Texas State got off to a worse start, 1-11.

Bad news is that the bigs got into foul trouble early, so Phillips had to come in for the remainder of the half. Some nice plays here and there but the inexperience shows.

If the experience and athleticism from Texas State didn't show up in the first half, it definitely did in the second as they stepped on the gas pedal to start the second half and didn't look back.

Very embarassing 2nd half, I'm sorry guys I enjoyed watching the reserves play at the end more than the awful performance of the first team .
