Feb 16th game against Pacific. Put it on your calendar

Pilots will have a chance to win that one. Lose it, and they will have closed on a couple month losing streak. Has that ever happened with this program? Big game!

Don't give up on the Pilots yet...they are slowly learning to play without Alec, but as we all know, more than one of the guys is going to have to really step up to give the Pilots a chance.

It's possible the Pilots could win the game on 2/16 against UOP, but if they don't, there may be a better chance of winning on Monday 2/20 when it is rumored UP will take on NAIA Walla Walla....making up for the missed opportunity in Boise in December.

UP's only other non-D1 game (besides the two exhibition games) was against Lewis & Clark, and as Walla Walla will have just three league games to go before the NWAC playoffs begin, it will be a good chance for them to test themselves against a D1 opponent.

As far as losing streaks go, this one is not unprecedented.  I don't remember all the games or streaks, but in 2012 UP went 4-24 against D1 competition from mid-November on, but they did beat Santa Clara in the first round of the WCC Tournament.

During Coach Holton's reign in 2002 the Pilots were 2-20 from mid-December to the end of the season with a squad led by Coky and Casey and Adam at the point.....remember those days?

I honestly thought the Pilots played well against BYU, but that was a team that does not put an emphasis on defense, and UP's bigs were a good matchup for BYU's bigs.  When the Cougars went to the trapping/pressing defense toward the end of game, it was exactly the tactic that brought them within 6 points of GU late in that game two days earlier.  Sure it was tough to lose, but considering the personnel Coach Porter is able to put on the floor on any given night, I was proud of their performance....just not the outcome.

Update: Rumor confirmed....Walla Walla on Monday February 20 at 5pm....FREE!

Walla Walla- saved by the bell! Should win that one easily, but would be nice to beat a D1 squad.

Definitely.  One of the losses was at home to the Zags by only three points.  The most acrimonious crowd situation I've witnessed.  It was a treat to be a student at the time.

I actually count eight wins during that time frame, none more impressive than our most recent win in the Kennel.

I'm pretty sure that was the 2003 season (2002-2003).

I remember it pretty well because I was sitting in the 5th row across the aisle from the the student section  when I got into a wrestling match with the GU grad son-in-law of a GU regent after he called Adam Quick a c___.

Mrs. DD finally stepped in and broke it up until the guy wanted to take it "outside" where she shamed the guy to backoff once again. (She probably saved my life as he was 30 years younger). Embarassed

Hahaha, this story is all sorts of awesome. It may have been a misunderstanding, though - I believe the Aussies use that word almost as a term of endearment, so that guy might have just been being friendly with Quick!

The last time a guy told me to "take it outside" was at a concert and we started out a fire door with a panic bar.

When he went out first I closed the door behind him. He would have had to pay again to get back in.
