Vida Blue Speaks at the Diamond Dinner

The Diamond Dinner is an annual fundraiser for the baseball team where they have a dinner, a guest speaker, and an auction. Last year Tommy Lasorda was the guest, and it was really a fun event. This year, former Cy Young winner and MVP Vida Blue is the speaker. Vida had a somewhat checkered history as a pro, but I've heard that he is absolutely tremendous as a guest at events like this. Should be a fun time either way, and the baseball team can always use the support.

Here are the details:

The Diamond Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the Doubletree Hotel Lloyd Center in Portland, Ore. The event is open to the public and tickets are $100 each or $1,000 for an entire table of 10. Festivities begin with a social hour and a silent auction starting at 5:00 p.m. Dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the program is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
