RIP Bobby Keys

Post by Geezaldinho on Mon Jan 12, 2015 12:39 pm

The long time sax player with the Stones died last month at age 70

Here he is with another pretty famous rocker in his earlier years.

Any guesses?

She sure looks familiar, but I can't come up with a name.

Janis Joplin.

The number one sign should have been a clue.

Huh. Janis died in 1970. The swoosh logo in that picture was created in 1971. Keys and Joplin were both born in 1943. The people in that picture do not look the same age. What am I not getting?

Always love to see a picture of "Pearl"...we roomed together for two years (well, her picture was on my wall in the dorm at UP for two years). Rolling Eyes

Holy Cross Hall (now Kenna) in the '60's......

Creative musical talent seems to be hard on a person; so many have issues with drugs and alcohol abuse. Don't know about Mr. Keys, but I did read the cause of death was cirrhosis. At least he made it past 27.

Plus in Janis's time Nike may have been making a few tee shirts, but I am pretty sure they weren't making sweat pants with the Swoosh logo.
