Yup, cycling!
University of Portland cyclist Clara Honsinger won the NCAA Division II USA Cycling National Championship on Friday in Ashville, NC.
“I had a first-place call-up, but even off the front I’ll usually sit third wheel,” she told Cyclocross Magazine. “I didn’t get a good pre-ride this morning so it was good to sit back and follow other people’s wheels and get comfortable with the course.”
"It felt just like home."
Clara, just 19, finished 9th in the U-23 race on Sunday.
Obviously athletic, in 2015 she won the OISRA Nordic Ski Championship 5.6K classic race at Mt. Bachelor. She was second in the 5.5K freestyle, giving her a combined second-place effort.
