Coach Cliff McCrath retires Empty Coach Cliff McCrath retires

Division II soccer coach Cliff McCrath announced his retirement from the head coaching job of Seattle Pacific University.

This guy is a legend. He coached there for 38 seasons and never had a losing campaign after his first, a division II record, and one of the longest streaks in sports,

He took SPU to 5 Division II championships in that span. SPU teams went to the tournament in 30 of those years, went to the championship game 10 of them, and won 5.

Along the way, he compiled the second most wins at any level (597). That's an average of almost 16 games a year!

He was also very active in the Seattle area with clubs and camps. His pupils at his Widbey Island NorthWest Soccer Camp included Kasey Keller, Michelle Akers, and Marcus Hahnemann. I'm sure there were lots of Pilots besides Kasey who went to his camps, too.

He doesn't need to see if he'll get into the US Soccer Hall of Fame, he's already there. A real legend.
