It's a little difficult to root for the PAC-12/Bruins, but it would be nice to see them spoil the ACC party.

Agreed. I won't be wearing my "Beat UCLA" button until next season.

One Step closer. UCLA Will have to beat its third #1 seed in a row to get there.

I hope they do, if only to send a message to the NCAA that maybe there is some good soccer elsewhere in the country besides the ACC.

Giving a #1 seed to any team with 5 losses is ridiculous. Giving four # 1 seeds to one conference is an insult to the other conferences.

Plus, for those who frequent BigSoccer, there are a good number of ACC fans who are in need of a reality check. To put it mildly.

Plus, we may be about to see the difference between Amanda Cromwell as a coach and Jillian Ellis.

I failed to find game time on NCAA's site. Not in the stories about today's game, not on the bracket. Or I suck at finding things, which is possible.

The game is at noon. Found the info on the Town Of Cary web site. (Sure I could have found it at the Bruins web site too.)

WakeMed Soccer Park looks very nice. Which is what I wanted to say.

Really? Did you try the NCAA site? All the information and links is on the bracket page. Click on the final game.

Weather aside, I think it's pretty, pretty sad that a nationally-televised championship game looks to be almost completely empty of spectators. Time to move it back to the West Coast. Last year in San Diego, it was packed, and a really fun experience.

UCLA seems to be the better team today, but if they don't find the net, it doesn't matter.

When that ball was loose in front of the net, I screamed just a bit in excitement. Of course, I'm watching online...at Starbucks, so I probably should control myself.

This is complete UCLA domination on offense and defense. They need one in the net.

I'd be really interested to know the time of possession, if anyone knows where to find that.

No, but I did see the "official attendance" was 8,806....Shocked  Obviously "tickets out" is what the count is based on.....there couldn't have been more 500 people in the stands based upon the TV angles.

A well deserved win for UCLA....they dominated the action and were the better team to watch and root for.  Tip of the cap to the FSU backline though....they were about as good as I've seen this year.

So, UCLA Coach Amanda Cromwell wins in her first year at UCLA.....and she's a woman!!  I'm trying to recall the last time we saw a female coach win the College Cup.

Hmm, maybe at Florida sometime in the late 90's.

Who was the only other coach who accomplished winning the National Championship in their first year after taking over at a new school?

Ali Khoshroshahin at USC, who took over Jim Milinder's super recruiting class and won right out of the gate. Every year after got worse.

Here's one for you. Who is the only coach who has been to a College Cup as a player, assistant, and head  coach?

Great to see a west coast team win, even if it was UCLA.

Unless you were rooting for FSU, this was a pretty enjoyable game to watch. UCLA showed a lot in terms of speed, pressured high, played with an attractive style and took FSU out of the match for the most part. After watching the semis, I expected to see FSU play an aggressive style to take UCLA out of their game, but that didn't happen. The VA Tech/FSU match was pretty physical with the ref letting a lot of stuff go.

Looking at UCLA's roster, they appear to be a pretty young team with only 4 or 5 seniors on their 32 player roster. They very well could be a force on the West Coast for the next 2 years. But I said the same about Duke 2 years ago. Hope the Pilots pursue a home game with them. It could be a great test and fun to watch.
