25 most influential sports figures in Oregon

Lets get a jump on Canzano this year. He usually loads up the list with every personal assistant and janitor Paul Allen has in his shell corporations or people he likes to interview or wishes he could interview. This year, let's pick actual influential people. Greg Oden or any current or past Blazer President, for example, doesn't qualify.

I'll start with the consensus top 3

1) Phil Knight
2) Merit Paulson
3) Paul Allen

( yeah, Paul is so disfunctional in his organization that is as high as he gets)

If you pick any subordinates on the list, at least give a good reason.

4) Stonehouse

Does it have to be an individual? I would nominate the OSAA Executive Board, but I'm not familiar with how influential any one representative might be.

Organizations are apparently ok. The Timbers Army came in around #20 last year and #5 the year before. I'm not sure how they lost influence, but it does show it doesnt have to be an individual. But how specifically has the board influenced Oregon sports lately?

4) Chip Kelly: the guy gets the most attention out of all Oregon coaches, period.

$20 says "Trail Blazers Unoccupied GM position" makes the list before most that deserve it....

Actually, it's originally spelt lacquey. It's French - thank Guillaume le Conquérant (aka Guillaume le bâtard).

5) Neil Olshey

yeah, I know....

These guys certainly deserve to be on a most influential list, but maybe not this one. They sure look young and doesn't KM look like he may have recently partaken of some sort of mind altering substance?

A graduate of Le Moyne College, Olshey originally sought to become a professional actor following his graduation from college, and moved to New York City to pursue this career. He appeared in several television commercials, print ads and had roles on All My Children, One Life to Live, and Loving. Eventually, he made his way to Los Angeles, where he tested for a lead role on the soap opera General Hospital.

I see why he was hired; his soap opera background is a perfect fit for the job.

The list has started. So far, it's all lackies (or lackeys or lacqueys) except David Johnson. He only made the list because he took Canzano fishing.

Well at least they considered Clive, Rev and Rapinoe... Take THAT Galen Rupp.

Hopefully both Rev and Leykam will be on this list in the near future...

Uh... One of those guys...

Here's a thought. OSU president Ed Ray should perhaps have been on the Canzano list as chairman of the NCAA presidents council.

He stood next to Emmert at this Morning's press conference( Spoke first and introduced Emmett, actually) and clearly had a major role in the expedited sanctions against Penn state.

The ultimate responsibility in the NCAA is officially empowered by the Presidents and Chancellors to the universities, and he clearly played a role in putting it back there.
