Goalies and life Empty Goalies and life

I heard this story on an NPR podcast called Radiolab. It is a British story about the trials and tribulations of a goalie's life. I don't recall seeing the link posted in the forum previously although it is possible I missed it.

Click the link and scroll down to the story titled: "The Loneliness of the Goalkeeper". It is pretty telling and worth a listen.

Thanks for posting this. It brought back a lot of memories of time spent between the sticks. Not sure I'm going to have my daughter (a 2nd generation keeper) listen to it as GKs have enough thoughts haunting them. That said, an appropriate quote for all of the field players comes to mind. "The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work." -- George Graham
