From the Pilots:
We now have a Jazmyn, a Jasmine, and a Coach Jazmine; quick, get out the fragrance chart.
Welcome ladies; we look forward to you joining the UP community (and perfecting our inbound plays).
PORTLAND, Ore. --- Jazmyn Johnson (Kingwood, Texas) and Alison Ryan (Cameron Park, Calif.) have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the University of Portland women’s basketball program as freshmen next fall, announced head coach Jim Sollars.
“We’re excited to add both Jazmyn and Alison to the program,” said Sollars. “We’re expecting them both to bring in some much-needed offensive productivity.”
Jazmyn Johnson, a 5-9 four-year starting guard for Kingwood Park High School, is currently averaging 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game during her senior campaign. She’s also averaging 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals, and she’s helped the Panthers reach the state playoffs each year on varsity. Johnson has also garnered all-district recognition each year, and she landed on the all-region first team as a junior. Johnson, who scored a career-high 33 points in a game as a junior, was named one of the Top Texas Players in 2012 by the Premier Basketball Report, and she was tabbed as the No. 7 prospect in the Houston area by the Cy-Fair Texans.
“Jazmyn is a shooter and a scorer,” noted Sollars. “She’s an excellent perimeter shooter, she has good ball skills and quickness, and she’ll bring some athleticism to our team.”
Alison Ryan, a 5-10 forward, is currently sitting out her senior season at Ponderosa High School due to an injury. A four-year letterwinner, Ryan was named to the All-Delta River League Team as a both a freshman and a sophomore. She garnered all-league honorable mention during her junior campaign, which was also cut short due to an injury. Ryan was named the MVP at both the 2010 River City Tournament and the 2010 Christian Brothers Tournament, and she once poured in a career-high 33 points. She also has career single-game highs of 17 rebounds, 14 steals and eight blocked shots.
“Alison is very physical, strong and athletic, and she can play either the three or the four,” Sollars said. “Despite being 5-10, she can definitely play down low because of her strength.”

If we could double our Cassandra’s, I fully believe we could double our win total! They're my favorites.
