I think he's right. We'll be talking about this one for a while.

We are not a Horde. That's PSU... Silly Oregonian. Also, I would like to say that I disagree with the only comment on the article:
This is a renaissance of women's soccer at OSU! Let's pack the house Beaver Nation! This is for in state premier program bragging rights. That program is now OSU!!

OSU does have one football team on the upswing. I'm actually pleasantly surprised someone is looking beyond beating Oregon since that's typically OSU fan's number one goal in every sport, every season.

I cannot give a high enough recommendation to Chris Henderson at All White Kit. He loves Division I women's soccer as much as anyone, myself included. Just scroll down the page that the Pilots v Beavers write-up is on and you'll see what I mean. I don't know how he does it, I think he doesn't sleep.
In addition to his AWK work, Chris is the person who inputs virtually all of the schedules and game result data into the nc-soccer website, which produces the in-time RPI ratings that RPI nuts look at. Often, he gets game results entered within seconds after the game is completed. I get the data for my RPI work from there. Chris, another guy who roots for North Carolina and is the creator of the nc-soccer RPI webpages (he is a computer genius, at least to me), and I have been working together on this for a couple of years now (and the Geez helps sometimes), yet we never have met each other. It's been really fun, and I can't resist giving Chris this plug.
PS -- Stay tuned for some really interesting information about the NCAA and its Division I women's soccer RPI computations.

I love Chris' writing too. And yet he still doesn't know how or doesn't want to change the generic egg on his Twitter avatar.

AllWhiteKit does a fine job, but in this case I think his prediction about the game is wrong.

Can't post a link due to my newcomer status, but you might want to check out Oregon State's latest news release.
It would appear that the Beaver faithful are a bit nervous about the travelling Portland fans taking all the seats!
2,000 general admission + 200 standing room only for total capacity of 2,200.

Here is what the OSU soccer website currently says:
Nov. 10, 2011
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s soccer team and coaches are urging Beavers fans to get to Paul Lorenz Field with their orange and black on as early as possible for Friday’s NCAA 1st round game vs. University of Portland. General admission tickets will go on sale at 5:00 p.m. with the gates opening at the same time for fans to find their seats.
Fans can line-up prior to the gates opening at 5:00 p.m. There will be 2,000 tickets sold for general admission seating inside Paul Lorenz Field, and once those are sold out, there will be an additional 200 standing room only tickets sold. After the initial 2,200 tickets are sold, the game will be officially sold out.
Adults can purchase tickets for $10.00. OSU and University of Portland students (with a valid student ID), youth and senior citizens can purchase a discounted ticket for $5.00. Tickets will only be sold on a one to one basis – meaning only those present and in line can purchase a ticket.
Tickets can be purchased cash or check only; no credit cards will be accepted. All tickets are general admission and are being sold on a first come, first serve basis.
Again, Beaver fans are urged by the coaches and players to fill Paul Lorenz Field with black and orange and to get to the gates early to purchase a ticket. Gates and ticket sales will open at 5:00 p.m.

They know that the "horde" is coming... Drums in tow. One that note... Don't forget to help fill Paul Lorenz Field with purple.

Away days are where supporters become legends. I could give you examples but it's like what happens in Vegas...
Many, many thanks to everyone who went down from those of us who had to stay home. Sounds like Pilot Nation brought it hard.
