Here is an article that names Tori Troesh as coming to UP to be on the tennis team

Sounds like a good player.

Does the UP women's tennis team even exist? They have no updates on the Pilots website for the UO tournament on the Oct 20/21 weekend and only one story for this year. I understand this is their pre-season, but I think unless there is some interest generated they are in danger of going the way of the golf team. It would be shame because tennis has recruited outstanding students as well as athletes in the past AND you can actually watch them play at UP. Maybe if the drum squad could attend the home matches it would create some buzz.

A drum squad... at Tennis? Isn't that the sport that requests silence before every serve?

As popular as tennis is at some schools (notably Pepperdine), I do not think it will be able to get the popular following from students that (depending on the school) soccer, football, basketball, hockey, baseball/softball, and lacrosse have. As DTR put it, there is quiet before each serve. College students are anything but quiet (unless the professor is looking for an answer from the class).

Still, great job by UP to get the tennis commit!

EDIT: and volleyball and water polo... the list goes on.
