UP vs BYU on BYUtv 10/6
Just a FYI for all you soccer fans that'd like to see the UP - BYU game on the 6th of October. It'll be aired that same night on BYUtv at 10:00 Mountain (9:00 Pacific).

Or live on FSC. But then you have to deal with FSC's announcers and production values.

How's it going, UPSoccerFanatic. Yep, I'm a BYU fan. UP vs BYU should be a great game. Can't make it down to Provo on the 6th, so I might have to watch it on BYUtv.
Thanks for the welcome.

Touche. [Sorry, I don't know how to do an accent ague -- or grave, for that matter. But, I'm sure the Geez will know.]

Accent (é) is associated with the "e" key on most keyboards. <option e > on a Mac, or <Alt e > on a PC. Then you type the letter you want it over.
The accent grave mark (è) is associated with the tilde (~) key on the keyboard at the upper left.
Don't even have to look on the iPad. Word replacement won't let you spell touché without the accent.
I had to figure out how to find the umlaut this year with Jürgen getting hired. It's associated, appropriately enough, with the "u".
Tune in next week for the lesson on when to use "ç" and when to use "z" in Catalan, and why.

Tomorrow's weather forecast in Provo
The weather forecast in Provo isn't looking too promising tomorrow. Tomorrow's high in Provo is forecasted to be 45 degrees (low = 37 degrees), with rain and thunderstorms. Geezaldinho - you and the misses might want to bring something REALLY warm. Don't forget your umbrellas.
I knew about how to type the accent ague and the accent grave, but I'm looking forward to an explanation on how to type the circonflexe, since it can be on any vowel.

I expect a great breakdown of the game from Geez, seeing as he is the only one there. I hope the ladies can find their form and start off the WCC season right.
On a random note: anyone notice the nets go up at Merlo? Apparently visiting teams kept kicking balls into the parking lot.

You forget we live in a temperate rain forest. Standard kit for UP fans includes rain gear.
As to cold, our next stop is Durango, so we are prepared.
But umbrellas? Proper etiquette here is to keep God's gift of moisture to yourself and not deflect it to you seat mate.
The circumflex on a Mac is easy, again it uses the <Option> key and "I" this time Then type whatever letter you want the ^ over. It's similar on Linux machine with the Alt key. The Geniuses at Microsoft make you use HTML code to get there though. I had to look it up.
you have to type a number code while holding down the Alt key, which by itself would be enough to make me an English only typist and just forget it altogether. That's what a lot of folks in foreign countries do.
For Windows, the number codes for the upper case letters are:
 0194
Ê 0202
Î 0206
Ô 0212
Û 0219
For Windows, the number codes for the lower case letters are:
â 0226
ê 0234
î 0238
ô 0244
û 0251
Again, with the iPad, you just hold the letter key down until a new keyboard comes up with the accent possibilities for that letter. You can also do a one-tap foreign language keyboard selection and word replacement won't let you spell château without the circumflex.
A virtual keyboard is a lot slower than the hardware version, but it sure is great if you switch between languages a lot.

Thanks, Geezaldinho. Guess I'll have to invest in an iPad. I know the ASCII equivalents, but it's a real pain to go back and enter in the ASCII stuff instead of hitting a key combo.
As for the weather - you'll fit in perfectly! I remember the 5 years I lived in Tacoma. Just kind of got used to the rain. After awhile, I didn't even notice it! Now that I've been out of the area for awhile, I'm becoming much more aware.

Anyone know where the game might be shown in the Portland area for those of us without Fox Soccer Channel?

It will also be on BYUTV, I think. See if your provider has it.
