Picked for 2nd Place

The Portland Pilots website hasn't made a mention of the WCC coaches poll that came out last week, but it's on the WCC site. The coaches have picked the men to be 2nd behind BYU and the women to be 4th. If you believe the polls, our streak of 32 in a row is in serious jeopardy. Any word on how the team looks this year so far?

This is in reference to cross country.

Interestingly enough the national cross country poll by the USTFCCCA was released today. They think a little more highly of the men's team. They have UP ranked 10th in the nation, BYU at 16.

This is worrisome, but I'm not phased yet. BYU has a good program. We won't be taking the C team to the conference meet this year. We just gotta hang on a couple years until the next major conference realignment, when BYU leaves the WCC.
If we lose by 5 or less points, I'm blaming the altitude difference.

BTW with the addition of Colorado, the PAC12 is now officially the scariest conference for xc. If they weren't already.

I kinda wonder if the other coaches made that call out of bitterness.
