Brew Fest

Post by Rochin54 on Thu Jul 28, 2011 7:25 am

The Oregon Brewers Festival is upon us!!

The lineup: http://www.oregonbrewfest.com/index2.php?p=beers

I must say, I haven't had most of the brews on here. Anyone see a msut try on this list? How do you even begin to have a gameplan to tackle this many beers?

It's a four day event. 85 beers means 21.25 per day. Only have half a glass of each, and I think you can do it. Cheers!

It starts at noon today, so if you want to have any chance you better get down there.

Make your babysitter get there even earlier. No, seriously... Meanwhile in sticking with my shame that is ordering Ruby, I'll probably be just drinking "Girl Beer".

The Razz Wheat from Vertigo? was good and Rubyesque.

The Dogfish Head Black & Red was TERRIBLE but otherwise I didn't hate anything I tried.

Golden Cap from.. a brewery, and Hell from Surly Brewing were nothing special.

Fun event to be sure!

Then don't try their Chateau Jiahu. Rice, grapes, honey mixed to a 9000 year old Neolithic recipe from china.

( no hops!)

Not as good as Ruby, but three times as much money.

No hops? Is that even allowed in Portland?
