track nationals 2011

Missed this a few days ago.....Dunbar and Chumba denied for 5K/10K. That's too bad considering how good their times have been. Basset will advance to nationals in the steeplechase. Been a long time since we've represented in steeple! Also, he set a PR for his qualifying time. Looks like he peaked just right, nice work.
Now I'm off to watch a beer mile. LOL.

Kipchumba got his heel stepped on while at the front of the pack and went down.

The judges didn't catch it, so that was that. Video did show it, but that isn't used by the judges. I think he still had effects from it the next day.

Article said Conner tried to appeal. Also says Chumba with the third fastest posted time this season. You'd think the judges would have a little more understanding in this case. I guess Chumba needs an big "O" on the front of his jersey or something.

And Basset just misses qualifying for the finals. So close.
