I believe that he should. As he noted in a recent Twitter piece, Hawaii kicked our tails at the free throw line 28-4. There were 2-3 games where making more free throws would have made a big difference in the game. Of course, coaching the guys on ways to get to the line would be helpful too. We're going to have more athletic recruits coming in who will also help with that...

It wasnt the percentage that counted, but how often we got to the line.

The significant stats were that Hawai'i got to the line 39 times and UP got to the line 8 times.

Had the percentages stayed the same and the number of shots been reversed, we would have won.
Had we made all our shots, we still would have lost.

UP got to the line for the first time with 7:29 left in the game. By that point, we were 13 points down, Nem had fouled out for four minutes, and Luke was one foul away from sitting for good.

The game was over before we got to the line. Our ft shooting percentage had no impact to that point.

That's true for the Hawaii game, however, there were other games during the season when our percentage was very poor from the free throw line. So, our guys probably need to work on both skills: drawing fouls and making free throws. I still think that Rev should run the Ladders drill. Many teams who have run it have shown a dramatic improvement...

At 74.4 FT% on the year, that puts us at 35th in Div I (out of 345). With a free throw rate of only 33.0, however, we are ranked 289th. Getting to the line should be a much bigger focus than improving on FT%.
