Wow WOw WOW! This is HUGE! The men's cross country team finished second at the west regionals today, with three runners in the top five!!! They went in to the race ranked fourth in the west and finished ahead of Stanford and Cal, both of whom were ranked higher!

Congrats to David Kinsella, who nearly beat Galen Rupp and ended up second overall. The men automatically qualify for nationals with this performance too!

On the women's side, the team finished seventh and could potentially get an at-large bid to nationals... they only finished one point behind WSU for sixth. Darn! Dana Morgan placed ninth and automatically qualified for the national meet.

Really it was a terrific performance by both teams!!! Way to go Pilots!

Wow!!

When you look at the list of schools UP bested, it'd pretty impressive!

Congrats to all the UP harriers. You make us proud.

Tough break for the women... didn't receive an at large bid. Three teams from the West did though, Arizona State, Washington, and UCSB.

So a seventh place finish in a region that sent five teams to nationals... not bad at all.

And Dana Morgan will be there to represent the Pilots too.

Good luck!!!

We felt OKAY about out seventh place finish. It was hard without the whole varsity team being switched up due to injury. Losing by one point to WSU definitely stings a little bit.

But hey...they weren't ranked in the nation this year, right?

Right.

Yeah... I'm sure the team at 100% could have done better, but still... seventh in the west is nothing to be upset about. You guys had an awesome season and have to be up there with the best UP women's teams ever!!! Smile
