But what about the Canopy?
those of you who watched the on demand video or saw it live and stuck through halftime were treated to an interesting discussion. For the rest of you, Adam Linnman had Larry Williams as a halftime guest. They talked about the basketball team and the progress with the new players, which could only really be known by having an uspecified scrimmage with an unspecified team.
Then they talked about the new scoreboard and how it will spice up games and make Adam work harder, and Adam half kidding asked Larry about when a board like it would go in at Merlo.
Larry lit up and talked all about how great Merlo is and how more improvements like a new scoreboard would really keep it a premier venue. "The scoreboards have to be replaced anyway" was one quote.

Yes, they said it was going to go over in the corner by the flagpole.

I hope not. Sitting under a canopy would be nice, but who wants to sit in back of a flag pole?

I hope that they give appropriate consideration to the angle of the sun when deciding about the position of the scoreboard. There are some HS fields around town where the scoreboard is unreadable at some times of the day because of the sun shining directly on it. Maybe they have better technology now that can overcome this, but anything in the North or East side might have that problem at the times of days that the field is used.

Re: But what about the Canopy?
REALLY good point. My guess is that they have thought about that.
I think that corner will be OK, but you can be sure Pilonation will look at it the next few weeks.

The board on the Pilot Club end suffers from just this problem during day games.
