WCC TV Schedule Empty WCC TV Schedule

Post by Guest Thu Oct 21, 2010 10:36 am

Good news for Mesa sunny, bad news for those of us in PDX Sad. I saw the WCC TV schedule on Wilner's blog, HERE. All the UP games scheduled for TV are played in Portland. I'd rather get a chance to see a couple road games on TV. Buy, hey, at least it is good exposure for recruiting, especially if the team defends home court and the fans have a good turn-out. But I also fear it allows casual fans to sit at home ("bring me another beer, honey") rather than trekking out to the Chiles Center. No

Nov. 19 Kentucky vs. Portland, 7:30 PM (ESPNU)

Jan. 13 Loyola Marymount at Portland, 8:00 PM (ESPN2)

Jan. 29 Saint Mary’s at Portland, 4:00 PM (ESPNU)

Feb. 3 Gonzaga at Portland, 8:00 PM (ESPN2)

Feb. 17 San Francisco at Portland, 6:00 PM (ESPNU)

Fortunately, Comcast SportsNet often comes in and televises several of the games that ESPN does not pick up... in fact most of the games we have seen @USD, @USF etc. in recent seasons have been on Comcast.

That schedule usually does not come out for a while, though...

I'm 95% sure Comcast Sports Net is run by 5 of these guys hopped up on sugar placebo pills:

In other words, it will be a very long while... I mean they have to worry about scheduling all that awful blazer/basketball related talking head material first... (That said, it's all an improvement over Greg Heister and Craig Ehlo)

That's not the programming guy. That's the guy working on getting CSNNW available on all the other cable and satellite providers.

You obviously don't care for the Blazers, but you would think that if I'm at the coast and have Charter cable (which happens to be owned by Paul Allen) that I would be able to watch the Blazers(which also happens to be owned by Paul Allen).

No, i actually don't mind the blazers, but the hours and hours of simulcasted sports radio is just annoying, not to mention some of the worst play by play in the league..

Does anyone in Seattle actually listen to "Soffffffty (in the head)"? I mostly listen to the iPod anymore; is this what's happened to sports radio?

Back to the original topic of this thread...I assume that you put those times in Central Standard Time, 7587.

There is so much good news in that schedule. In no particular order; DirecTv now has ESPNU in HD, I work the day after none of those games so theoretically I can stay up to watch them, they are all home games, so the Pilots chances of winning are slightly improved, and I can enjoy a wonderful microbrew during the entire course of the game, not just a halftime hef served up by Bill Reed.

The bad news, no pokies in my house...yet.
