Gonzaga game

Post by santa pilot on Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:23 am

So, the big question is WHO replaces Sophie? My feeling would be to move Keelin up to AM and have Michele O play in her spot, then insert Kristen K. in the back line. You always have Cassie as an option (sub or starter). I think a lot depends on the health (injuries) on the team.
To state the obvious, we all know Sophie is OUTSTANDING and will be sorely missed. Another possibility is to start Ellen P with normal substitutions as the game progresses.

Your first option was my original guess, but I think Ellen has been getting the playing time there to prepare her to play, and I think she has progressed nicely. I am guessing Ellen.

I see Gonzaga has a video option for the game, but it's a paying option and they don't seem to have a single game rate. That seems rather short sighted since opposing fans might take advantage of a reasonably priced single game option. It's $9.95 for the monthly option which some might still go for I guess.

Personally, I see moving Micheala back to the attacking mid an starting Dani! I'm not giving up on Dani an I still see a lot of productivity there. I also see Michaela as a natural attacking mid.

I know Ellen enrolled early an played with the team this summer but what I have seen, she is not ready, no harshness intended here, just my own perception.

How about vice versa?

An interesting thought. I wonder how she would do facing the goal more, and distributing. She distributes well now, with her back to the goal. I think she has always played forward.

I disagree about Michaela. I think she is a natural attacker. She has a nose for the goal and can take people on 1 v 1, and I don't think distribution is a strong point for her, yet, although her last assist was a thing of beauty.

Here's another thought - I doubt you will see this, for many reasons, but wouldn't it be fun to see Cloee and her physical presence in the attacker mid spot?

For those of you watching the game on Gonzaga's feed, are you getting audio at all?

So... our freshmen are pretty good. Two goals for Capelle, one for Parker, one for Frisbie.

I sense a bright future ahead... Smile

Watched with no audio--- Sad

Great team game. Nice win without Sophie- All 4 goals by the freshmen. Excellent assist by Sarah B to Amanda. We do have a bright future!

See you on Friday at Merlo.

So does Micaela's brace mean she's selfish, or do the three freshman goalscorers mean we're still searching for that one playmaker to step up?
