Canada beat china in their friendly last night on goals from Diana Matheson, mellissa Tancredi, and Christine Sinclair.
It was Christine's 102nd international goal.
Sophie wasn't kidnapped and flown up there for the match.

Canada will now take a few days rest before regrouping on 4 October in Alliston, ON. The team will train through 11 October before making the trip to Mexico in advance of the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier. Canada, whose title sponsor is Winners and presenting sponsor is Teck, is looking to qualify for a fifth-straight FIFA Women’s World Cup.

I counted 53 players in the Canadians pool, but could not find an actual roster. It seems like they would need to announce the official lineups in the very near future.

A player identified as Christine Sinclair in the first photo is wearing #14. Perhaps different players look similar from the back.

Yup, she's gone. From the Trib:
After the Oregon and Washington games, the Pilots are likely to be without one of their leaders, Schmidt, for a while. She is in line for duty with the Canadian national team as it plays in regional qualifying in Mexico for the 2011 Women's World Cup.
"That would put her out of most, if not all, of our conference play," Smith said, "but she'd be back in time for the playoffs. The last day of qualifying is Nov. 7."
The NCAA playoffs begin the weekend of Nov. 12.

No one player can fill in all that Sophie brings to the Pilots. Everyone else has to step it up a notch. She has been just amazing this season. Last night's free kick goal versus the Ducks was just the latest example. Sad as it is to have her elsewhere I have to say: Go, Canada!
