MWC is hosed. They'd be in great shape if everyone had stayed, and they added BSU.

The MWC is transforming into the WAC. It's losing BYU, Utah and TCU. It is gaining Boise St, Nevada, and Fresno St. The WAC is turning into . . . ???

For football, Big West for all other sports. The rest of the conference is UC/Cal St schools with tight budgets so the travel will not be easy on them.

Don't look now, but, as of today BYU is currently #1 in RPI in men's basketball:

I don't expect it to continue as the Big East schedule plays out...and the big boys of Louisville, UConn, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Georgetown battle it out. But, still...

Subtract about 30 points/game and that's the answer?

Are we having a party? A flashmob? Fireworks? Something. Cool stuff. RT @BYUathletics joins the West Coast Conference in nine days! #WCC

I like your idea, Purplegeezer. The last flashmob I saw was this:

(Probably not quite what you were thinking ...)

The WCC website is hinting at the new logo, with a short video regarding the new era of the WCC... check it out.

Huh. Does that really hint at a new logo or just a new motto or catch phrase for the coming year?

The stars at the beginning... and the brief flash at the 0:33 second mark... it seems to indicate a theme / logo motif...
I am not sure I would have noticed other than I had a bad connection the first time I watched it and the video froze a couple times at those spots.

Nah, I caught on the same visual clues. They wouldn't make all this hooplah over an addition we already know if they didn't have something to go with it. And besides, the nature of the previous logo having a star for every school pretty much requires an alteration of the current one. (Which is fine by me, the old one was getting a little on the tired side...)
