Actually, Sophie and Keelin gave fans in my section the same feeling at the end of yesterdays game. they both stepped up a notch.
That score was not a surprise.

I got that feeling from them on Sunday too.
I had an ideal those two would step it up to the next level (and pull their teammates up there with them).
It was just question of when.
I love when that happens in team sports.

If somebody ever plays us straight up, I think the forwards will feast. They ought to be motivated enough.
It was called the World Cup.
I heard Joachim Low's workshop on putting together outfits for your coaching staff was very popular.

Seems like as the offense works to find their rhythm, the defense has "stepped it up" week after week allowing the offense the time they need to score.
4 games 1 goal (a deflection).
There are other aspects to the game to appreciate besides scoring.

Starting up front is Hallie Kreminski - who has doubtless been called many things; but a smaller forward is not one of them!

On the computer, Amanda Frisbie also looked tall and strong, and also maybe pretty fast. Is that the case?

Next trivia question: In which 2009 NCAA Tournament first round game was there a bunkering clinic?
(This is a meatball for the Geez to hit out of the park without even having to think about it.)

She's also been subbed out with uncharacteristic alacrity for Capelle, who played a lot of sunday's game. I may be confusing sunday and friday, but I think Hallie came in to play some mid at one point?

High Point v UNC. High point had an RPI of like 300 against UNC's #1, and almost took them to shootout.
Boy! were the UNC folks pissed. I commended the High Point coaches for giving themselves the best chance for win, which of course made me unpopular with the powder blue folks.

Yeah, Hallie played attacking mid late in the game when Sophie moved up to striker. Frisbie is tall and strong. What I like about her "best goals" video (someone shared the link somewhere that I can't find now) is that she scores from distance and is looking for the long-range shot. That won't always work against college keepers, but it's something this team can use in its arsenal. Military history 101: Bust a bunker with a long-range bomb.

Capelle was subbed in for Dani in the first half v. Cal State and in the second half v. PSU.

Re: SMU / Oklahoma St.
fan from afar,
i really do hate to do this to frisbee. I was personally totally excited to see her enter the game!! She played about 20 minutes total an in my opinion turnd the ball over every time she touched it.
on the other hand, she 'passes the eyeball' test 100%!! frisbee looks like a player!!! the thing that disappointed me most was that she wasnt physically stronger. once she is, watch out!!! how is that for constructive criticism?

That's exactly what I thought I was seeing. Maybe a redshirt possibility?

Re: SMU / Oklahoma St.
Fozzie and FFA...I had the same impressions of Amanda! She stood out on the pitch...looked physically imposing and threatening! Unfortunately, it did not match her performance. . I think a little mix of rust, freshman jitters and maybe trying too hard to too soon to make an immediate impression....were the reasons she didn't have much affect. She wasn't in very long. And it was pretty noticible that she wasn't happy with herself when she was subbed out. Sara Bridges similarly. No worries though...I trust that it'll come together for both of them and they'll both become big Pilot stars.
Contrast this. It's funny how some players just look like they belong at a D1 level and can handle themselves maturely right away. I'm talking about Micaela! What a gem! She looks so comfortable already out there! No fear, confident, aggressive and ready to take on a big offensive role! Talk about coming in under the radar compared to the other recruits in her class? But, when she's on the pitch...she just seems to have the ability to get involved and....seems to make things happen!! IMHO....She has an the "it" ability... to stand out on the pitch! I can't seem to take my eye off her...even when she's away from the ball. Good stuff. She's fun to watch.
GO PILOTS!!!
