Oregon Brewers Festival Time!

Post by PilotNut on Tue Jul 20, 2010 10:40 pm

We have been remiss; how have we not discussed this yet?

This Thursday-Sunday, July 22-25. Waterfront Park. Oregon Brewers Festival!

I am looking forward to *finally* being in town for the Brew Fest this year... heck, I think our office is even making the short stroll down... Who else is going?

A few things pop up to me this year...

A TON of fruit beers seem to have made their way into the fold, interesting and also a decent supply of reds to go with over abundance of IPAs....

Also NO RUSSIAN RIVER?!? WHAT?!?

My local pub hasn't had Pliny for the duration- only Orgon brews..

I've had to tough it out with some Hop Czar.

You poor soul... (Haha I really hope R54 reads this thread, the mental image of him getting beet red with anger and jealousy is just too good.)

A resilient beer-o-Phile makes do with what he can.

There is a movement afoot to make the southern border of Oregon the Russian River...

Mad

Make do with Hop Czar!!?? I have to make do with Long Hammer. In other midwest news, Dead Guy Ale is now $13.59 a six pack out here. Really?

Holy crap - if I could get some Deschutes over here, I would be in heaven! Mirror Pond is an absolute classic, and their Inversion is a tasty tasty treat.

I have confirmed reports that I will be in The Cities in a month. Where is this confirmation of Mirror Pond, I may have to make a stop on my way home.

R54, you must get Bell's out where you are, they have several good selections. I have also found Wisconsin does have some decent brews, once you sift through the majority of Lagers to find the Ale section. Certainly better than Indeeana.

Also, I am still smarting from us not being able to attend the Great Lakes Brewfest together.

I will find out the specific place... my insider source said it was newly stocked where ever it was purchased.

Although, the insider may not want to reveal the source, so as to minimize competition for a limited resource... Suspect
