Making the Grade!

CoachReveno: Spring semester grades are in and the team was over 3.0 again. So in addition to a 21 win season the team had a over 3.0 for the year. Nice.

Always nice to hear the Pilots remember the first word in that whole "Student-Athlete" clause... Well done guys, and great job coaches/professors giving those players the support to be successful.

It's great that they stress this as much as they do. For the players sake. Its hard on the team if someone gets hit with an "academically inelgible" but also to give them a future beyond basketball.

Kudos to the guys on the team and the coaches and support staff.

The tradition should continue...

I stumbled across this from the Gonzaga Prep Alumni magazine:

Father Curtis Sharp Award ... The Award is presented to a young woman and man of the graduating class by their classmates in recognition of superior academic achievement, high moral standards, outstanding leadership, and committed participation in athletics.

This year's male recipient is UP-bound Ryan Nicholas.

Congrats Ryan!
