Not sure how many of you are fans of UP on Facebook (shame on you if you're not... https://www.facebook.com/universityofportland), but former player Ulysses Tucker posted an incredible picture of the 1977-78 team:

Here's Ulysses's caption:

From the left top, Rick Ravio, Darwin Cook, Donald "Tricky" Dixon, Leonard "Ham" Williams, and myself.

Sitting down from the left, Russ Dyer, Joel Avina, Bob "Bloody" Dudley, George McCollough, Reggie Ken Downey (RIP), Bill Kreguer, Steve Johnson, and Easy Ed Kintz.

Seriously... how awesome is this picture? I especially love, love, love that "Home of the Pilots" sign with the anchor and chain - does that exist somewhere on campus still? In the museum maybe? Because how incredible would that be to have in one of the hallways of the Chiles Center?

Sweet picture! I had forgotten about that sign... I remember it being there in the early 90's, near the main drive at the end of Howard Hall (you could see it from the Cove when looking across the main drive).

I certainly hope that it was kept... it needs to be displayed somewhere.

That is nothing short of brilliant... Agreed that in some way shape or form that sign needs to come back. I mean if we are gonna go nautical (which we should...) why not some faux wood pilings or channel markers at the entrance to chiles.... When I have an extra 7 figures laying around I'm donating money to the school on the caveat that the white CC roof has the pilot wheel painted over it. AND wally gets a tug boat/lighthouse/fog horn....
