I love the comment that the game "featured pouring rain." Yeah, that's quite a feature.

When Southern California schools come up here in late October, it's a feature...

U23s at Four Nations Tournament
Elli, Keelin, and Dani all are on the 18-player U-23 roster for the upcoming Four Nations competition in England. The US women will play England on 7/7, Norway on 7/9, and Sweden on 7/12. That will be the last of the U23 work until after the 2010 college season. Here's a link: http://www.ussoccer.com/News/U-23-WNT/2010/06/US-U23-WNT-Heads-to-England-for-Four-Nations-Tournament.aspx

Re: U23 Team - Pilots
The USA beat England their Four Nations cup match Wednesday 3 - 0.
It will probably take a day or two to see who got in on the scoring and which Pilots scored. Nothing on the USAF or England FA sites yet.
Norway on Friday.

Excellent for Elli. She is a scoring threat. Wonder if she is playing midfield for U23s.

Re: U23 Team - Pilots
Ineresting article. It talks about Keelin making a throwin from The right, AND Elli playing forward on The right. A brit who saw The game emailed me with a lineup, AND i assumed he was mistaken, but he had Keelin playing outside back with elli playing forward in front of her. From the order of the lineup given on ussoccer, he may have been right.
Sounds like Bill is doing some heavy mixing of roles.

Norway beat the u23's 2-1 in the Three Lion's Cup Friday.
My Norwegian is worse than my Basque, but Ingrid Thorbmanson scored, And the US gave up an own goal.
On the bright side, Keelin scored the only USA goal. From what I can tell, their coach thinks they put it to us .

Re: U23 Team - Pilots
Keelin is probably the type of player who could play about anywhere and be great, although one might think that you would like more speed on the outside. It's neat that she scored!! I think (I hope!!) she has a real future on the national team. Actually, a number of current Pilots may have national team in their future.

Re: U23 Team - Pilots
The USA beat Sweden today 1-0. Apparently that was enough to win the Three Lion's Cup on goal differential.
I'd try for a translation, but that didn't work out so well last time, so I'll just wait for an American version.
