Pilots Ranked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#26 out of 30, according to Baseball News, one of the major baseball polls:

Amazing!!! Has a Pilot baseball team ever been ranked? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
Congratulations to Coach Sperry... couldn't be happier for him!!!

WOW!

USA Today still had us in the "receiving votes" category, but we have moved up there, too...
Now if we can just knock off UO next Tuesday in Eugene...

Re: Pilots Ranked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is great! Once again, gotta ask, what % of the student body was on a ranked NCAA DI team in 09/10?

I also would like to compare that to percentages at other universities.

Re: Pilots Ranked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A great question!
Women's soccer: 23
Men's soccer: 21
Men's XC: 40
Men's basketball: 14
Baseball: 32
For a grand total of... 130.
Out of 2990 undergrads... that's 4.3% of the student body. Nice!!! Updated stats below...

Re: Pilots Ranked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK... updating my stats just a bit (I used an older number for the total number of undergrads):
The total undergrad student population is 3106, which equates to 4.2% of the UP student body being on a nationally ranked sports team in 2009-10.
And heck, if you do it for just men alone… a full 9% of the male students on campus were on a nationally ranked sports team.
