Just saw that he is done for the year because of a ruptured achilles tendon... Rough way to end a season (and potentially kill a MSU Final Four run), something Nik Raivio (and I suppose David Beckham) knows about entirely too well.

Such, a freak injury that, in every instance I've seen, hasn't really even happened in the heat of battle, just a little mis-step...

His should be worse than Nik's since he tore it (right?) rather than strained it.

Theoretically yes, and with a tear often requires a surgery option for healing. And on top of that you are pretty much out a minimum of 5 months, Nik's was just kind of a completely unpredictable lingering thing. Either way, both are extremely painful and completely shut down any athletic endeavors for indefinite time.
