I think you're quoting up7587, not me, but there are a few nice GU and SMC fans out there. Just not the ones who booed the band as they walked through the hotel.
The nicest compliment I was paid this year came from a SMC alum from Seattle who comes down to Portland for games and actually was looking for "the band's conga player" after the semifinal game. So, to the fans who are cool to the band, the fans, and the team? You rock. To the rest of you? Stay classy.

Maybe they heard "that" line from a certain someone who played drums a few years back and have a long memory...

Nah, they're too young. Anyone who's currently in college wouldn't have heard that one.PurplePrideTrumpet wrote:PilotDrummer wrote: I think you're quoting up7587, not me, but there are a few nice GU and SMC fans out there. Just not the ones who booed the band as they walked through the hotel.

It was quite endearing when one of the St. Mary's players told our fans to suck his c*** as he left the game.
I can't picture any of our guys doing that to anyone. Another reason I'm proud to be a Pilot fan.

A player? Wow...stay classy.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was Omar, he's had problems controlling his temper in the past.

took Jared and TJ out of the game - and I mean completely. The Pilots are not going to win when that
happens - just way too much firepower lost.
Not to pick on Robin, but for a 1st team all conference player, he sure misses a lot of "point blank" shots.
There simply wasn't enough offensive punch out there tonight to stay in the game. The Pilots had
a golden opportunity to make it a game when they cut it to five. But then the lead immediately went to
double digits again, and SMC started to hit some shoots. It soon got out of hand due to no counter-
ounching by UP at the offensive end.
I wonder if the Ducks will go after Rev? If not them, we can be sure that someone will. Next year will be
a challenge for Rev. He loses a lot of firepower in Raivio, TJC, Smeulders, Ethan. The biggest concern has
to be who will take over for TJC at the point?
If we get Avery Johnson to come, I think he'll start at the point. I don't see Rev going to coach the Ducks; I think Rev prefers student athletes. Haha...

I'm not a Ducks fan by any stretch of the imagination, but one of the unrecognized aspects of Ernie Kent's tenure down in Eugene is that regardless of how the play on the court, they graduate everyone. In fact, earlier this season Kent suspended LeKenrick Longmire, their best defensive player, for something like four games for not having his academic house in order. Whatever you say about Ernie's coaching, he's done a good job in the academic arena.
As for the Gaels ... I think we need them to win tonight. With two WCC teams for sure in the Big Dance, we look a lot better to the NIT.

Wow, that game was ugly. I had to record it and turn down the radio today everytime they started "bubble talk." I kind of wish the score had been "spoioled" for me. We did not look good, but a lot of credit does need to go to SMC for that. Bennet came in with a great defensive gameplan and their players executed it very well. I am definitely pulling for the Gaels tonight (well, actually I will be sleeping and hoping I see them with a bigger number next to their name than Gonazaga when I wake up in the morning).

Omar's profile picture right now:

We are hearing great things about him. He was rated very high.
If any of you have any updates, I'd appreciate it.
Freak
I went to watch the tournament this weekend and Jesuit won it easily. Holt is rated highly for good reason. He's strong and quick, has that ability to drive past guys in the lane or pull up and shoot. Kind of reminds me of what Nik Raivio could do. I think any WCC school would like to have him.
