Discussing Pilot Baseball at 3-0

Post by wrv on Thu Feb 25, 2010 7:25 am

The Tribune notices the state of affairs and discusses players and positions for the upcoming season,

With a little more funding, Sperry may have the ship righted . . .

I think the much mythologized river-side stadium won't hurt either...

But only if the architects in this town don't find any of the buildings down there to be fine examples of design and pitch a fit.

(What makes you think I'm bitter about anything?)

The empty brownfields area below the Bluff is a classic example of mid-20th century industrial pollution! HOW DARE YOU even suggest tearing it up! It's an historical monument!

Besides, the University can find better things to spend money on than baseball stadiums, like potholes, children, and renting out the Chiles Center to the cat fanciers.

Congrats to Pilot baseball, BTW.

He usually had in his mouth a short dudeen; but in an evil moment he put the dudeen, lighted, in the pocket among the powder. Mr. Lowry was an eccentric man.

What I want to know is, will a new stadium have enough bathrooms for everyone? I suspect the Chiles Center needs to be improved in this area as well. I am going to count the toilets before the game Saturday.

(Go here to read all about Peter Apanel. I would not have believed it if I had not been at that City Council session myself...)

Well the city dumped all it's waste into the Willamette for years, we could just do the same right?

(I hope none of my bio professors read that....)
