This was so much easier when you worked for a beer distributor.

I'm so excited I can barely contain myself.
Who, besides me, is going to be in the chatroom tonight?

Re: Game Day!
Well, that didn't go too well. The floor really fell our from under us. We really could have used Nik in there as someone who can create off the dribble.
Moving on to USD and the rest of league play now. Let's win the rest.

Re: Game Day!
That really sucked. Seems like the only time I get to see the Pilots on TV is when they're playing someone ranked, and we end up getting murdered. I was really impressed with Stohl though, dropping long 3's with no hesitation.

Re: Game Day!
It's all just talk...or blog until we actually win a game. Right now this isn't even a rivalry. We hold our own at home and get spanked on the road in their house.
Sometimes I wonder if we really have very much talent or if Rev is just getting everyone on the roster to overachieve. I mean, some guys who will play in Europe, but, zero who will play in the NBA (in my opinion)...and they have 3-4 guys who may play in the NBA once again. I can't wait to see what happens when Rev scores just a little more talent in the coming years.

I hope it's the latter. That is the mark of a good coach, IMHO. Win games you shouldn't with guys who aren't supposed to be that good. Then you get more talented recruits. See: the cross country team.

What's up with their commercial? The whispering reminds me of the spooky noises in the jungle in Lost.

I agree that it is generally the latter. Really, this year's senior class was Rev's first recruiting class... look at what he has been able to do with out even much of a step up in recruiting the past few years (due to a lack of spots opening up due to graduation)... obviously the incoming freshman class for this fall appears much more talented; if he can get them to overacheive and develop... nice. We should start to have some "normal" recruiting cycles now, and hopefully the talent level increases.
But yeah, that game last night was miserable. That is the type of game where Nik could have stepped up and made some shots, since no one else was...

Re: Game Day!
I think we have real talent on this team. NBA? No, not really. But honestly, most tournament teams don't have nba players on them.
Does Rev get guys to play hard and play as a team? Heck yes. That's not overachieving, that's playing good basketball. Basketball is a cerebral AND physical game. Some teams are better physically, some teams are better cerebrally, the best teams are good at both. Being weighted heavier in the cerebral end does not make one an overachiever, it makes on good at basketball....in my opinion.

Plus, those are the only games where we get national highlights. Not too good for selling the Pilots.

Sometimes that stuff happens. Remember back when we (the zags) played Duke, we had a serious case of the yips that game, and nothing went right for us.
Such is sport.

Actually both games will be televised this weekend, USD on ESPNU and St. Mary's on ESPN. Hopefully we can turn in a much better performance.
