Hasn't Rev done a WONDERFUL job with Pilot Program? Empty Hasn't Rev done a WONDERFUL job with Pilot Program?

I was thinking (and not posting radomly, lol). This being the holiday season, the economy being so tough, how fortunate we are to have Rev. and his staff at the helm at UP to provide low cost fun.

Just a few years ago the program was the laughingstock of the WCC conference, we were headed into mediocracy with no hope on the horizon. My, how the program's prospects changed . Both literally in were expecting and expected to win almost every game we compete in. Plus, in the fact that the quality of athlete that now wants to attend UP (PROSPECT,). It all started with that first recruiting class of Taishi,Robin, and Ethan. Sure these guys were overlooked, and may not be as talented as some othe WCC foes but by adding Nik the following year it sure has turned into a fun team to watch. Bringing in Luke, Jasonn, Jarred, Kramer, and BJ the following year was a great move. The personalities have all blended well and even with this class of recruits maybe not being as "athletic" as many of our WCC opponents we adopted REVs hardnosed style of play. Then last year with the addition of an excellent floor general like TJ how many of us could have expected us to be "undefeated" in the WCC and playing the Zags on National TV for the conference lead. Wow , propects have really changed for us at UP. The 19 win season, the CBIT invitational bid and everybody returning, less big John had my hopes in the clouds.

Yet , I must remember this is a 30+ game season, even though I've had my share of heartache, along with my JOY's we have yet to play one WCC game, one nationally televised Zag game at the Chiles, one St Mary's game, one revenge game against Santa Clara without Byrant standing in the lane for 6-9 seconds tipping everything in for a 30 pt 20 reb game. We have yet to face the SDU's,Waves, Lions, the USF's even once. WowZa am I ready.....

Just think about next yr. Rev says the kid from Gonzaga Prep could step in already this year and play....the Canadian Big Man, Bailey from Kramer's High School (Think Kramer with a 18 foot shot and Robins Moves just not quite the moxy)........etc...... Sure it would have been great to sign our heralded pt guard out of Southern California to step right in for TJ and only get better if he stayed all 4 years, with Eric being an "older" backup pt {JR next year, remember he did 5 years of HS with the one yr at Prep School}.We have our injured frosh big man out of New Mexico with a year in the program and 4 yrs of elgibility. Not to mention Luke, Jaredd,Jasonn, and Kramer coming back

I am grateful and don the UP colors proudly (I luv my new hot off the presses Wally Pilot t-shirt). But the reason I am really grateful and content is because I know Rev IS NOT -he's corresponding with recruits when allowed , scouring the entire World for TJ's replacement, an excellent game coach, his staff is right there with him. Bradley Scott is making the "Weight work" interesting and beneficial for the young men. .....and .....THE EXCITEMENT BUILDS.....with a minor eruption Faint as UP defeats Gonzaga 72-68 at the Chiles Center in January.

There is no doubt we are lucky to have Rev. He gets it. And, yes, he has done a WONDERFUL job.

Cheers from the Pelican Brew Pub in Pacific City!

Cheers!

Yeah, we're very lucky. With our system and our talent and Rev at the helm, no loss is because of lack of preparation anymore. Our success for the rest of the season rests squarely on the shoulders of our players. Either we get the job done, or we don't. I do believe we need at least more really good guard for me to get more excited about next years' team. But, the recent twitter about Rev checking out the junior college ranks again gives me hope.
