The Relatively Short Good Bye
Hey PN faithful... just wanted to drop a quick note to say that my posting days are likely coming to an end on here. It's a good news/bad news situation for me... last week I was hired to work at UP (which I am thrilled about!), but though I won't be working in the athletics department, I will be doing PR/media relations and likely will be working pretty closely with athletics. So... as much as it pains me, I am going to have to hang up the spikes, as it were.
I probably will still post things like links and promotions and things like that, but not much beyond that. It's been a pleasure to post here and to get to know all of you, and I'll definitely still be around.
Before I go... keep up the faith with this year's basketball team - I know it's in a tough stretch right now, but we are still a good team that we have every reason to be very proud of. Don't let the dizzying heights of a few weeks ago sour you to the rest of this season. Right now, this team needs our support more than ever, and I really hope as many of you as possible will be there for the games over the holidays. I know the schedule isn't full of heavy hitters and the games are at odd times, but while the students are gone the team will be relying on the rest of us to carry them through the rest of December.
We're Pilot fans... we've been through seemingly endless years of, at best, mediocrity. What's happening right now with this program, with an excellent coach and a true buzz around it... I haven't seen it before. And even if we end up, say, 3rd or 4th in the WCC and with only 18 or 19... that would be back-to-back winning seasons for what has been a moribund program for years and years. It's important to have expectations and I definitely have them for this team, but I also have the ability to step back from it for a bit and just enjoy the fact that I can say I support a winning team and am truly proud to be a Pilot basketball fan.
And remember... there is LOTS of basketball left to be played. We haven't heard the last of these guys... not for a long shot.

This is SOOO cool!
Now I have a source "close to the administration" !
Though considering you named Danielle Brunasche as the Danielle who was coming to UP, I'm not sure how reliable that is.
Good luck with your new job. I know you will do well.

Scarey, yes.
And "source close to the administration"? Absolutely! I'll be just one floor below.
As for hitting 2500, oh man, Wizzy, I don't know if I've got it in me. But maybe I'll give it a shot... I do have nothing but free time til Monday.
As for Danielle Brunasche... hey, I got all the rest of them right, and all I had was a first name to go on. So sue me. :p

My question is, does the new job mean you have to switch to a different ring tone?

I know, I just needed to see the words typed out... And I too think that will be my ring tone for the rest of my days on this earth...

Stonehouse,
I've only been on PN for 10ish months but I've always appreciated your posts. You always had a lot of interesting things to say and you kept things in perspective. It's been a pleasure.
Good luck with the new job. Hopefully I'll see you around Chiles and around campus.
Best Wishes,
ShipstadPilot11

Congratulations on the new job.
Are you still going to be able to lead the PN cheering section in Vegas?

Probably, But I'll wager you won't see him wearing a USF shirt this year and cheering for them.
