If it comes down to PKs, who takes them? Empty If it comes down to PKs, who takes them?

With three games to go I've been pondering who might take the penalty kicks if the Pilots end a game tied. I assume that Dani and Sophie will be 2 of the 5, because they have already scored on PKs in games this season. I also assume that one of them would go first and one would go last to put strength, experience and confidence at the beginning and end of the shootout. Who are the other three kickers? Let the speculation begin. Here's my sideline opinion: Dani, Jessica, Kendra, Kendall, Sophie.

I'd point out that sometimes the team has a wild card or secret weapon -- a PK specialist who may not even be a starter but who is skilled at this task. That's what Colleen Salisbury was for the Pilots in 2005 when they needed a score.

Do your PK takers have to be on the field at the end of 2OT?

No they can be any 10 players on the roster designated by the coach.

7.1.2.1 Only players who are listed on the official NCAA game roster
form shall be eligible to participate in the tiebreaker. Each team shall
designate either: (a) 10 different kickers, one of whom may be the
goalkeeper, or (b) 10 different kickers and a goalkeeper who will not
participate as a designated kicker in the tiebreaker procedure. The
kicking order shall be at the discretion of the kicking team; however,
once taken, the order of the designated kickers shall remain the
same. If any of the designated players, except for the goalkeeper,
are ejected during the tiebreaker, the game will continue with the
remaining designated players; and the opposing team, if necessary,
shall have the option to reduce or adjust its kicking order to avoid
being penalized or placed at a disadvantage if the No. 1 kicker
from the offending team ends up kicking against the No. 10 kicker
from the non-offending team. In addition, if the designated player
ejected is the goalkeeper, his or her replacement may be from any
of the eligible players listed on the official NCAA game roster for
that game; however, the game will continue with the remaining
designated players and the opposing team must remove one of the
designated kickers from its kicking order.

You may recall in the 2005 shootout with Penn State and in the 2002 shootout with Stanford, lefty Coleen Salisbury was inserted just for the kicks (she made both)

Kendall being a left footer would be a good candidate. Michelle O is a good firm striker of the ball who might make a good PK taker.

I hope we can win three games without recourse to a PK shoot out.
