Story on Clive in Oregon
Here's a story by Aaron Fentress on how Clive has affected all four D1 programs in the State.

Re: Story on Clive in Oregon
The article reminds me of something from a really great book about leadership:
There are people who other people follow, which is one level of leadership.
Then, there are people who other people respect as leaders, but who pass on their leadership "DNA," so that those other people themselves become leaders.
According to the book, the latter is the highest form of leadership. That's Clive.

I think Clive has also inspired a whole generation of club and rec coaches around here too.

She also could have scored many more goals than she actually did, if she'd wanted to. I remember a bunch of times late in the game when the Pilots had it well in hand, seeing her pass up scoring opportunity after opportunity for herself, in order to set up chances for players such as Coleen Salisbury and Elsa Hume.

Re: Story on Clive in Oregon
the thing i loved best about sinc is that, if she wanted the ball, she got the ball!! i saw her make so many plays depossessing a player with the ball that after so long i just came to expect it.
after our gals won the title in 2005 an there was a rally held downtown in pioneer square, my favorite question was, 'christine, would you consider becoming a u.s. citizen so we can continue watching you?'

It's been said before but is worth repeating. If Christine played on teh USA team she would be an even bigger star than she is now and would have scored a boat load of goals.

You could just get some tickets to see the Bay area team instead...

Re: Story on Clive in Oregon
even when sinc playyed here at u of p, i always thought that she was one of the top three players in the world.
like 'arry said, if she did play for the u.s., she would be unequivocally the best player in the world. but, the homer i am, i do think she is the best player in the world. she does more with less!!
