Yes, PSU will still share with the Timbers. Portland State actually helped out with the MLS bid and supported the campaign to remodel the park because they knew it was going to help their program as well.
There is a stretch of the street across from the stadium, next to a bar that is closed and used as a place for tailgating before games. Drummer is in the band that plays the PSU games. Maybe he can say a few things about pre-game or the atmosphere at Viking games. I can tell you the game I went to this year the crowd was pretty tame until the Vikings mounted a comeback. Not anywhere near a Timbers crowd in terms of size or energy.
Please don't leave any hashmarks for the real futbol games. That's one of my pet peeves of watching games at a few of the MLS stadiums...

They won't, it will be the same line removal process they use up in Seattle

How do they do that? I've always wondered... are the lines painted on, and then the paint is stripped/scrubbed off? Or, are small parts of the turf actually taken up and replaced? Or....?

They are painted on as you would on grass, and i think there is a chemical scrub process that takes them off and on (to very good effect I might add)...
Haha just don't tell the protesting nutjobs know, they will probably picket saying the line removing chemical causes E. coli in the water reservoirs or something...

Ahhh, remember the good ol' days of the mounds of white chalk dust for lines? And inevitably getting it in your eyes....

Re: Soooo..... Glanville
I know when the Timbers went to the playoffs this year, the second game of the championship series would have been the same weekend as a PSU football game. Management was VERY quick to assure the fans there was no way the gridiron lines would be there during the Timbers game. Sadly it did not turn out to be an issue.
Some people in the Timbers Army volunteered to spent that Saturday night helping to wash the gridiron lines off. I think they were only half-joking...

Indeed, haha that or pouring gasoline or other chemicals to "burn" the lines into the field. Ridiculous.
And fret not PPT, the Seachickens/Sounders have had home games the same weekend and you couldn't tell one field was used for the other...

Re: Soooo..... Glanville
I once played a rugby game on a field that was marked for football, soccer, and lacrosse. Once the game started I didn't even notice the other lines. Well, some people did, because they ran out of bounds before they even noticed. Silly.

The search is over for Jerry's replacement.
It's the Wolfpack's Defensive coordinator, Nigel Burton, an ex Husky.

I like it. a second tier program willing to take a chance on a young guy with promise.
Infinitely better than an old retread who leaves tickets for dead men.
The only question left is if Canzano already has him on his list of most influential people in Oregon Sports.

He usually had in his mouth a short dudeen; but in an evil moment he put the dudeen, lighted, in the pocket among the powder. Mr. Lowry was an eccentric man.

Info on Burton:

LINK O-LIVE
Nigel Burton (Nevada defensive coordinator): With Mark Banker running the defense in Corvallis there was no upward mobility available to Burton when he was at Oregon State as a position coach and assistant. So Burton left for Nevada to run the Wolfpack defense. He played at Washington, and coached at PSU (defensive backs and special teams in 2001-02). Insiders say Burton is getting a serious push internally from Rashad Floyd, a Burton friend and former Arena Football League player who graduated from PSU in 2001. Floyd is charged with being the "football voice" of the hiring committee. OSU coach Mike Riley gave Burton a positive recommendation this week. Nevada went 8-4 this season --- very respectable --- but Burton's defense gave up 28 or more points 15 times in two seasons. Some obvious questions there, and you have to wonder if PSU can afford to go with another defensive-minded coach in the wake of Jerry Glanville.
